FAQs
What is EmBody Method?
EmBody Method is a practice-based approach to movement informed by the nervous system. It focuses on effort regulation, recovery literacy, and choice rather than performance or outcomes. Awareness is developed through movement itself, not abstract explanation.
Is this physical therapy or medical treatment?
No. EmBody Method is not physical therapy, medical care, or mental health treatment. It is a non-clinical movement and education practice. Participants are expected to work within their own medical care when appropriate.
Do I need to be “in shape” to work with you?
No. This work does not require a baseline level of fitness. It meets people where they are and emphasizes capacity, pacing, and relationship to effort rather than achievement.
Is this for injury or pain?
EmBody Method is injury-aware, but it does not diagnose or treat injury. The work supports awareness, regulation, and sustainable movement alongside appropriate medical or rehabilitative care when needed.
How is this different from traditional fitness or training?
The primary difference is orientation. EmBody Method does not prioritize intensity, optimization, or performance metrics. It prioritizes discernment, choice, and sustainability over time.
Is this somatic therapy?
No. While the work is informed by nervous system awareness, it is not therapy. It is a movement practice with clearly defined, non-clinical boundaries.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. Some offerings are available virtually, and others are offered in person depending on context and location.
Where are in-person sessions held?
In-person work is currently offered through select Life Time locations and by arrangement in the Denver metro area.
How do I know if this is a good fit?
You do not need to decide immediately. Reading the site, reviewing the resources, or reaching out with questions is sufficient. If it is not a fit, that information is useful too.
Is there a commitment required?
Commitments vary by offering. Any expectations are discussed clearly in advance. There is no pressure to continue if the work does not feel appropriate.
How do I get started?
You may reach out through the contact form to ask a question or inquire about current offerings. There is no urgency or expectation attached.
